The 2008 Woking Mental Health Fair is
being organised by
CornerHouse
and will, as usual,
offer something to everyone. Over forty exhibitors
will be participating, including most of the
major statutory and voluntary sector mental health
organisations in Surrey.

The main attraction this year
will be an exhibition of artefacts and photographs
depicting the history of Brookwood Hospital -
courtesy of
The Lightbox. For anyone interested in the
history of the Asylum, which was established in 1867
and closed in 1994, a brief history and some

There will also be a launch and
presentation of key recommendations from the BME
Community Engagement Project report produced by
Shifa
- Woking Asian Women's Group.
In the afternoon
Surrey and Borders
Partnership NHS Foundation Trust will hold a
public consultation about hospital services
for people with mental health problems, learning
disabilities and drug and alcohol problems in Surrey
and NE Hampshire. This consultation event is
part of a programme of consultation named
